Samrat Prithviraj

The film was announced by Yash Raj Films on Akshay Kumar's 52nd Birthday on 9 September, 2019. This would be his fourth collaboration with Yash Raj Films.

Large parts of most of the palaces and forts were created virtually, as were sections of the battlefield sequences, which had motion-captured virtual armies.

Real lions were shot in South Africa. These served as references for the computer generated lions that were mixed with the real lions in the arena sequences.
